You’re probably wondering if it is even possible to lose 20 pounds in two weeks without some sort of fab diet. I’m here today to tell you that it is indeed possible! You can lose up to 10 pounds each week by making a few simple changes in your daily diet. I did it – so can you. And the best part about all of it is, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg and you can do it right in the comfort of your own home. No need to spend money on a gym membership or the typical “promising” weight loss pill. Here are five ways to help you shed some pounds within two weeks:
1. Drink water
This one may be a no-brainer to some but studies have shown that increasing your water intake up to 10 – 8oz. glasses of water can have significant benefits to your body overall including flushing toxins out of the body, stopping your body from retaining extra water and boosting your metabolism. Water intake is one of the leading factors in weight loss today. I know a lot of people who say “Well, I don’t like water. It doesn’t have a taste.” And well that’s no excuse to me! There are numerous water enhancers out now to help you consume the right amount of water. And if that doesn’t really work for you, you can try drinking unsweetened tea, or add fruit to your water. The possibilities are endless here.
2. Get 30 minutes of activity in
This one I love, for the simple fact that we have everything we need right in the palm of our hands. You can find tons of home workouts on Pinterest’s these days and a lot of them give you better results than you will get with any $200 gym membership. You can buy a pair of 5 -10 lbs. dumbbells and use those every day (I do!) or invest in a Simply Fit board and use their 15-minute total body workout. It’s the little things that make a big difference.
3. Always eat breakfast
It’s true what they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But you don’t want to just eat anything for breakfast. Try going for a protein filled breakfast, something that will keep you full a little bit longer. This doesn’t mean you need a bigger portion to keep you full, maybe you just need the right foods in your diet. High protein breakfast examples include Hard boiled eggs, breakfast shakes, cottage cheese & fruit, peanuts & cheese, and more!
4. Take your daily multivitamin
Because you’re taking on a new lifestyle of eating healthy and exercising you will need something to help fill your nutritional gap. That’s where taking a multivitamin comes in handy. The reason we eat food is for our body to gather nutrients and energy from it. However, if we are accurately taking on our new found healthy lifestyle working out and drinking water can flush some of those needed nutrients out of our system before our body gets a chance to absorb them. Thus, taking vitamins is crucial to helping your body lose and maintain a healthy weight.
5. Watch what you eat
Watching what you eat is probably one of hardest things you’ll have to do to lose weight. In fact, watching what you eat involves completely changing your mindset. You need to first commit yourself to a healthier lifestyle. Once you’re committed everything is smooth sailing from there. It’s prominent that you eat three well-portioned meals a day, including your fruits and vegetables. Look at all your labels – what are you bringing into your home? Also, try not to consume anything at least 3 hours before bedtime. Regulating your food intake will cause substantial changes in your diet and help you to lose that unwanted weight.
Please note that everyone’s body reacts to things differently. There is by no means one certain way to lose weight that is designed to perfectly suit every single person. On the contrary, there are basic lifestyle changes that you can make that will have an impact on your overall health and weight loss journey. From my experience, these five lifestyle changes can help you lose up to 20 lbs. in two weeks.
